 NICOLIANA
is located in the Los Angeles area. She brings her multiple dance
background to the world of Bellydance to create her unique, high energy
style. Nicoliana performed with the Lailaa Chandani Dance Ensemble for four
years where she studied intensely with the beautiful Shoshanna. As a
soloist, Nicoliana has performed in such venues as The Kabob House in Monrovia, Koutoubia in Los Angeles, Zabumba
Brazilian in Los Angeles, and at the Renaissance Pleasure Fair with musician
John Bilezikijan. Nicoliana has also traveled and performed in Turkey and
Greece. Currently, Nicoliana is dancing with Jillina and The Sahlala
Dancers . She is a diverse dancer who continues to study and teach various
middle eastern dance forms including, Egyptian, Turkish, and Spanish -
Arabic. Nicoliana is versatile in that she can dance with a sword or
perform an Egyptian cane dance, but her passion is dancing with a veil. The
fact that Nicoliana studies the culture and not just the dance movements,
allows her to teach with dignity and respect for the Middle Eastern Culture.
Bringing knowledge of the history of the dance is something that Nicoliana
incorporates into her classes to ensure that she does not contribute to any
misconceptions of Middle Eastern Bellydance. |
